Format for Western States Mini Sprint Nationals

Format for Western States Mini Sprint Nationals


Friday night:

Hot Laps: All cars signed in will get one hot lap session.



Qualifying:

All cars signed in will qualify two laps. Fastest lap time is recorded time. Each driver will earn one point for every car out qualified.


Heat races:

Heat races will be seeded as follows:
Fast time will start at the rear of the first heat.
Second fast time will start at the rear of the second heat and so on until the field is filled.

Each heat race will be 10 laps. Points will be awarded for each finishing position.
In addition, passing points will be awarded for each car passed. Total cars passed will be determined by subtracting starting position from finishing position. For example an 8th starting position subtracted from a 3rd finishing position will equate to 5 cars passed.

Positive points will be applied to heat race finish to determine total point count from heat race.

Total heat race points added to Qualifying points will determine total preliminary points. The total preliminary points will be used to set the field for the Friday night A Main event.


Main events:

A Main will be seeded as follows:
Highest preliminary point earner will start from the pole.

Second highest will start from the outside of the front row and so on until the top 18 preliminary point earners are seeded into the A Main.

Top four finishers from the B Main will complete the field.

The top 10 finishers from the A Main will be used to seed the A Main Dash on Saturday night. A main will be 25 laps.


B Main:

Those drivers who have earned the 19th through 36th points totals will be seeded into the B Main, with the 19th highest preliminary point earner starting from the pole.

The driver 20th in points will start from the outside of the front row and so on until the field is set.

The top four finishers from the B Main will be transferred to the last four starting positions in the A Main event. B Main will be 15 laps.


C Main:

If needed, the C Main will be seeded the same as the B Main, starting with 37th in points.

The top two finishers from the C main with start in the last two positions of the B Main event. C main will be 12 laps.

Saturday Night:

Hot laps: All cars signed in will get one hot lap session.

Trophy Dashes:

The winners of each preliminary heat race on Friday night will be seeded into the Trophy Dash as follows:
The lowest point earning heat race winner will start from the pole position
Second lowest will start on the outside of the front row and so on until the field is filled.


A Main Dash:

The top ten finishers from Friday nights A Main will run a dash to determine the starting positions for the first 5 rows of the A Main.

This dash will be seeded with the highest preliminary point earner from Friday night on the pole

The second highest point earner will start on the outside of the second row and so on until the field is full.

The finishing order of this race will determine the first five rows of the A Main with the winner starting from the pole and so on.


C Main:

If needed, a 12- lap C Main will be run with the top 2 transferring to the rear of the B Main event.

The C Main will be made up of those that did not qualify for the B Main.


B Main:

The B Main will be 15 laps with the top 12 finishers transferring to the A Main.

The B Main will be made up of those that did not qualify for the first 5 rows of the A Main.

Thus, 11th in preliminary points from Friday night will start on the pole and 12th in preliminary points will start from the outside of the front row and so on until the 36th point earner fills the field.


A Main:

The A Main will be 30 laps.

The finish of the A Main Dash will directly set the first 5 rows with the top 12 finishers from the B Main filling the rest of the A Main.

The winner of the B Main will start 11th and so on until the field is filled.

The BCRA president will reserve the right to add a provisional starter to the A Main.

On the cls board Brent stated these were the rules and point system for Marysville only.  Does anyone know what they are for Mohave in Bullhead?  Would appreciate it, thanks.
