A job well done to the officials last night. It has seemed in the past like the officials have been hesitant to enforce the racing rules in the Jr Sprints, maybe because they're just little kids. Just because these little guys and gals are young, does not mean that they can't be held accountable for their actions. It was unfortunate for him, but when #13 Isaac Abenroth jumped the start from the front row in the Main event he got sent to the back and was held accountable. I think he learned a lesson and won't be doing it again. It doesn't matter how many times dad says "Don't jump the start", it is a way more effective lesson when the flagman says "you jumped the start, now go to the back of the pack and try again."
Firm actions like this on the part of the officials will help these kids learn and will help the Jr Sprint program run more quickly.
