Clay Cup Rules

Paul mentioned at the track on Friday the possibility of opening up the 600 motor rules.  While I am not for this rule change or exception for Clay Cup because of the horrible economy and the fact that it will create even more of a difference between the halves and have not's and think it caters to drivers from out of the area who are only faithful once a year to Deming if even then I would like to know as soon as possible what is going to be allowed so I can figure out if spending a few grand for a chance to win a few grand is worth it.  Wait a minute I think I just answered my own question...

There was also a weight rule change mentioned, which if anyone see's me roll across the scales, will know that it won't benefit me either way unless the multi's have to run at 800+ lbs... I don't blame this on the track but more on my lack of desire to run long distances and sweat and my love of good food.

Long story short when will we know what if any changes to the rules will be made and how long will they last, (beyond clay cup?).

Thanks!

The 600 class will be allowed to do head work for this years Clay Cup Nationals, however the bottom end MUST stay STOCK.
600's with head work will have a minimum weight rule of 775lbs. Stock 600's minimum weight will be 750lbs.

These head rule only apply to Clay Cup Nationals and not the remainder of the 2009 Race Season.

**There will be an added Bonus to any stock 600 that wins the 2009 Clay Cup Nationals.

Thanks for the info. being a motor idiot I'm still not sure what that exactly means other than surfacing, porting, polishing, titanium valves, etc...

Any thoughts on if this is eventually going to be a new rule in 2010?  I am just thinking that spending that kind of money for 3 nights of racing might not be worth it but if there is a high likelihood we will be moving that way for next year I could see more people doing it.

If the speedway would continue the headwork for future racing ,the track would be forced to start a new class---thus being the multi's ,,,therefore spending 8,000 to 10,000 dollars for a competition motor ........are you all ready for that ????

I ain't ready for that at all and quite frankly couldn't afford it!  I just want to know if I am going to be running around the track with a stock motor, 50 lbs over weight, racing against a bunch of people with multi-motors, with no chance to be competitive because if that's the case I will consider hanging it up!

P.S.  If Jenny Craig would sponsor me I would take care of the weight problem...Heck I might even attempt that without the sponsorship..
