Super 600

We made it through all 3 nights to the "A" mains ,and rolled the car in the trailer every night .....just want to say what a great bunch the drivers were and the track officials had the race track in top notch shape, this was fun and  we'll be back---this time with a bigger motor.    Hey Evans family -thanks for all the fun and we will take your invite  for our return.    Our track reporter Kelly will give you a detailed report later  Thanks    WOOD MOTOR SPORTS

The 2009 1st Annual Super 600 Nationals is over and it was a pretty succesful weekend full of ups and downs.

Friday night the dry slick track and the park proved to be the equalizer between the multi's and the stock motors with all 5 Deming Drivers making the A main.

Saturday Night was not so kind to our Deming Drivers with JR Thomas 1 spot out of the A Main transfer spot taking a ride off of Colton Heath's right rear and flipping hard into the front straightaway guard rail/fence just out of turn 4.  It was an extremely hard crash that literally pancaked his top wing but the trooper he is we rolled him over and sent him back out with a little duct tape holding the top wing on the car.

Bam Bam Cam Smith held his 6th starting position the entire race but found it difficult to move forward on a one groove track that favored the multi's.

The same B-main worked well for Shaun "The Bottom Feeder" Holtorf who proved everyone wrong, including the Chase Chassis Builder, that he could run that track with 4" of stagger.  Most run 7 or more!  Shaun had a phenomenal weekend making all 3 A main events and holding his own every night.  Shaun's skill was finally outdone by his luck when during the first lap of a main event another car got into him hard trashing his left rear birdcage and ending his night.

Colton "The Show" Heath finished his B-main in 5th, one out of the transfer, but a scratch by another car got him into the main event starting in the back.  After approximately 25 laps his car overheated and he parked it on the infield.

Trey Starks made the A-main all three nights as well and started the A-main Saturday in 9th position.  Less than 10 laps in Trey lost his right rear and another Deming Car was sitting on the infield.

I was extremely impressed with our locals and many others at the Park were as well.  Numerous people came up and made positive comments about our drivers and several of them expressed interest in coming up to our track next year for Clay Cup.

Next year I would love to see 10 more Deming Cars at this track and know that we definitely have the talent to win this show!
