Reminder: The club meeting is at 7:30 this wednesday at Alfy's Pizza in Burlington. This is an important meeting because you will be voting on rules for next year and club officers also. See you there!
I believe so unless you send someone with a signed note saying that they are allowed to vote for you. The best person to ask about that would be Doug Brown, but I think I am right.
I think the club rules meeting was a joke...... Whats with not allowing owners to vote by their specific CLASSES (600, 250, 1200's)...... Anything to get a specific Agenda thru????
The club rules meetings were held in accordance to club rules! Your acusation is unfounded and based on ignorance of the club rules! If you wish you can call me, e-mail me or come to the next club meeting and discuss your concerns. As soon as the new rule books are published you are welcome to a copy and better educate yourself before making such a statement. Better yet, volunteer for a club office and show us "The Way"!!! Doug

First, I'd like to commend Doug on accepting another year as our club President. Nothing says the incumbent must take the job if unopposed. Its a tough job given the blur between what is club and what is track rule.
This year was technically by the rules, but was procedurally different than what has been done in the past. The previous method also technically followed the rules.
Here is how I recall it has gone in the past (back through 98, and I suspect further). Would the results be any different? who knows.
November Club Meeting: General rule changes could be proposed and 2nd'd for vote during the December Meeting.
Class Rules Meeting: Classes would vote on what rule changes they would like for their class. The classes used to schedule these independantly. It has only been the past couple years that we've done the all-in-one proposal meetings.
At the December meeting, All members would discuss and vote on each general club rule. Each class rules package would also be introduced, and the club (1 vote per registered car) could vote to accept or reject each package. All registered cars have always had a vote to accept each class (Example: 100, 250, and 600 all would vote to accept the 1200 rules change package). I do not beleive we have ever combined the class packages to accept in one vote.
Also,
I don't beleive there is procedure in the rulebook that would allow for a track adjustment of club rules proposals to be done offline as it was this year. I know due diligence was taken to accomodate everyone, but I saw a lot of sour faces in the room when that was explained.
Just stop it . Anyone could have ran [ DAVE1617 ] for prez. It was my B'Day taken up by track stuff [ off season ] not yours I'm sure .Not sure who put the stick up your ...wink ..wink . But all we want to do is race with our son . Doug has been asked to do this job. He didn't want to because all the crying . You want a Separate meeting , Have one . The prez is mine from Oct to April . Not sure what you think a secret agenda might be ..But sorry ....your nuts .. Step on up and take the job ..any job ... and the phone bill . So either STEP up or shut up !!! And you have our number .
Ist. My wife also SAT IN THE STANDS and watched her Son race on HER B-Day... So, ..... That’s all we want to do also is watch our son race and have FUN.....
2nd .. I never said that Doug wasn’t doing a good job in My Note.. That may have come from "Another Response"... And you should take that up with them.............
I just had a problem with the way the rules meeting went this year... I never meant to offend anybody... I don’t believe that a particular "class" rule should be voted on be other classes.... That’s all......Period......... It seemed like this whole off season has been wrapped around keeping drivers from Switching cars during an event or race, rather than safety rules, weight rules, or anything else..
Under no circumstances do Hornets Vote on 410 Sprint rules at Skagit, or vice-versa, or any other track in this Nation, Period
For your Information, as if it even matters, I have Held Many club positions in the past of the Skagit Sprint car assoc when I raced there..... And the phone bills.....
Every track in this Nation has "track Rules".. And they are usually there to protect the racers or the owners, and Rightly so.. I think Paul does an Awesome job trying to keep everyone Happy....
We are all fortunate to just have a place to race these days...
