Yes, after the March meeting, I told Steve we're interested in both nights. They will NOT be NMSA points races.

Tentative plan is to run 600's and 1200's combined, but score seperately. This is the best way to put more cars on the track, while still making it fair to both classes. Probably makes the most sense to have the 600's line up behind the 1200's, so we'll basically have 2 seperate races on the track at the same time. Payout would be re-adjusted to support 2 classes.

Once I get the details worked out with Steve, we'll have more information.

The 1200's will run us over!! The speeds won't even be fair. Even if 600's start in the back they will still be lappin' us. I don't think we should run them together and the only reason I say that is for saftey.

Actually I recall Cam Smith ran his 600 with the 1200's at Skagit last year and did not get lapped, he actual hung with them. Besides Skagit is huge with lots of room to pass.

Cam, Any feedback?

Scott

At the March meeting, we had a lengthy discussion on how to move forward. It was clear that the club felt a combined event was the best way to ensure car count. We also elected to make is a non-points race, so those who were uncomfortable with a large track and or combined class would not be penalized should they choose not to participate.

I would like to think that IF 1200's happen to lap 600's, they'll be able to find passing room on a track that wide (they seem to do okay at Deming). Frankly I'm not convinced that contact between a 1000lb car and an 800lb car would be much different than contact between 2 800lb cars at 100mph...

Ya we ran skagit in 2007 with our 600 the first 600 ever on skagit speedway... and was faster than 4 1200's in hot laps... it turns the motor real hard so be ready for that...

Also the 1200s are spinnin the heck outta there motors too..its ok i seriously doubt its that hard on them..just change the gear..remember..LONGER track maybe upshift one..anyways not seeing a prob there my concern is the track surface..so im down but of there are two foot burmes on there gonna have to pull er in..sounds like fun but not gonna junk my bars.
