HEY EVERYBODY! We're starting a new thing with the club this year that I think will definitely help everyone out in the long run. I will start posting the minutes from each meeting shortly after for those that were unable to make it to the meeting.
So, here's what happened at this month's meeting...
January 2011 N.M.S.A. MEETING
Treasury Report: $75.00 balance after pts checks issued.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
·Brought up by Mike Allen-Stock means Stock (600R)-There should be no change of motor rules in 600R.
·Paul & Brad Holtorf confirmed restricted must be stock. May mill head but most have stock gasket.
·Kelly Mauck discussed change to HD25 or equivalent RR to save $ on tires. Paul opposed because he was happy with 2010 racing.
·Paul confirmed no motor rule changes for 1200 class in 2011.
·Brandy Bloodgood asked to make sure that you pay the tech fee when getting motor sealed.
·B. Holtorf is going to talk to Paul about a fair tech fee.
·Nominations for Grievance Committee Members:
oJr. Sprints: John Abenroth, Steve Thomas
o600r: Gerald Brown/Jeff Westergard
o600:Don Webb/Jon Engler
o1200:Jared Gunderson/Jason Bloogood
Motion and second to vote for all nominations. Vote passed unanimously
·Playday on Sunday April 3rd discussed. We will have a rookie playday on April 3rd w/ veteran drivers helping instruct. Paul will work on details with KellyMauck.
·Paul Lemley is the new Head Official. He will be making final decisions involving any controversy. He will not listen to someone yell and scream.You must be calm and collected or the conversation is over!
NEW BUSINESS
·John Abenroth asked about possibility of transitioning JR Sprint motors to a 4-stroke in 2011. (Get away from KT 100 motor).Paul asked John to contact him to discuss further.
·Tech dates were discussed and sooner than later would be better.There will be a post on the website and/or message board for when/where.
·Kelly Mauck asked about rainout dates to reschedule races if we have several rain outs.It was discussed that likely make-up dates would be on a Sunday. Paul will have to make the call based on number of days missed/need for income to keep track going.
·Kelly Mauck asked about interest and possibility of creating a 5-race Mini Series called Best of the Northwest. He is checking with Cottage Grove Speedway, Willamette Speedway, and Skagit. Cottage Grove Oregon has confirmed they will allow Mini Sprints to run. Races or series would be in June.Paul discussed the challenge of managing a series and difficulty of keeping track of points and dealing with officials.
·Passing of Mike Havlick.Mike Allen made motion to have club purchase flowers.Motion was seconded by Rachel Westmoreland and passed unanimously.There will also be a memorial for racing family in June.
·Kelly Mauck wanted to congratulate those that made the trip to Tulsa and for representing Deming Speedway and the NW.
·Paul Lemley discussed possibility of adding a Non-wing class as a regular class at Deming and at Clay Cup if he can find a sponsor for Clay Cup.He said there appeared to be a lot of out of town interest in a non-wing Clay Cup class. Motor rules would be same as 600 open classes and there would be no switching between classes. 1 car per class.

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO PAY YOUR DUES, IT'S $40 FOR CLUB MEMBERSHIP AND $10 FOR A PIT STALL.
If you need to pay your dues, you will be able to do so at the next club meeting (Feb. 1st)
